Let’s rebuild LA to be resilient & insurable.
Our Mission & Vision
Mission
To empower Los Angeles communities to rebuild safer, stronger, and smarter after the Eaton and Palisades fires by ensuring access to evidence-based resilience standards that protect lives, homes, and local economies.
Vision
A future where every home and neighborhood in Los Angeles is built to withstand increasing wildfire risk and create thriving, resilient communities.
An opportunity to build back with resilience!
$1 Spent = $210 in savings
The January 2025 unprecedented Eaton and Palisades fires consumed nearly 40,000 acres of homes, businesses, and landmarks with an estimated 16,000 structures that will need to be rebuilt. Historically, rebuilding after a catastrophe has been guided by two principles: 1) replacing exactly what was damaged/destroyed and 2) rebuilding to a minimum construction standard. Unfortunately, the region faces significantly increased (and increasing) fire risks. It is now imperative that communities rebuild safer knowing their climate future is at higher risk. This will lower future losses, improve local economies, and ensure stable insurance, housing, and mortgage markets.
There are evidence-based ways to build homes and communities to be safer from wild and urban fires. And, research shows that for every $1 spent on rebuilding fire-resistant communities could save $210 in avoided future losses.
“And given the potential for a 43% reduction in home losses in a similar fire, it suggests that for every $1 spent on rebuilding wildfire-resistant communities, $210 could be saved in avoided future losses.”
Rebuilding Safer, Stronger, and Smarter
At The Resiliency Company, we know that homeowners face difficult questions after a wildfire:
Can I rebuild more safely?
Will insurance be available and affordable?
How do I make the right choices?
The Resilient LA Delta Fund and PILLAR Program is designed to provide homeowners with the resources, guidance, and confidence needed to rebuild to the highest wildfire resilience standards — the IBHS Wildfire Prepared Home Plus standard.
Our Approach
Our approach tackles homeowners four biggest barriers:
-
What it takes to build a resilient home and reduce fire risk.
-
Knowing which resilience measures matter most.
-
How to implement and qualify for resilience measures.
-
Unlocking financial resources for upgrades.
Through collaboration and conversations with community groups like After the Fire, SBP, Resilient Palisades, NHS-LA, and Altadena Collective, and collaboration with technical experts like USGBC-CA and IBHS, we are building a trusted network to help homeowners and communities become safer, insurable, and more resilient for generations to come.
